The stadium complex will also serve as catalyst for other business and activity in the area, and will contribute to local and community-wide pride, while providing additional and affordable family entertainment.

The proposed 2,500-seat stadium and 18 acre site is will servce as a place for the new expansion franchise of the Northwoods League. The ficillity should be ready in time for league play in Elkhart the summer season of 2011. The league recently completed its 16th season.  It plays more games and draws more fans than any other baseball league of its kind in North America.  In the last two Major League Baseball amateur drafts, the Northwoods League had 277 of its players and alumni drafted, while 474 of its former players participate in professional baseball at all levels.  Tampa Bay Rays MVP Ben Zobrist and New York Yankee outfielder Curtis Granderson are two of the most notable current MLB players who have played in the league.
